In a touching message, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to share the love and joy of Christmas with those less fortunate
He encouraged generosity to “the needy” as well as “neighbors and loved ones.”
“As we celebrate this annual festive occasion,” stated Dr. Bawumia in a statement. “Let us share the joy with our friends, colleagues, neighbors, and especially those in need.” Let joy flood our hearts and the spirit of Christmas bring us all together.”
“Let the gifts and food also go around,” he continued. That will make everyone’s Christmas memorable and enjoyable.”
Dr. Bawumia said that the birth of Jesus Christ “marked the beginning of a lifetime of impact and influence from a little village called Bethlehem.” His God-given mission impacted the globe and redefined his origins.”
“In that light,” the professor said, “let this season remind us that timeless impact can start from humble beginnings, leaving a legacy that lasts for generations.”
The full speech is as follows:
Dearest Ghanaians, another season of joy, compassion, love, and unity has arrived. I extend my best wishes to Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and his family, as well as Traditional Leaders.
Merry Christmas to all Members of Parliament, the Diplomatic Community, Religious Leaders, other Political Leaders and their Parties, Movements, Civil Society Groups, our Party (the NPP), and all Ghanaians.
I especially wish you, your family, and your loved ones many Christmas blessings.
As we enjoy this annual holiday, we should pass the “merry go round” to our friends, colleagues, neighbors, and those in need.
Allow the joy to spread. Allow the love to circulate. Allow the presents and food to circulate as well. That will make everyone’s Christmas memorable and enjoyable.
The birth of Jesus signaled the start of a lifetime of impact and influence for a small community called Bethlehem. His God-given mission impacted the globe and redefined his origins.
In that light, let this season remind us that lasting impact begins with the birth of a massive mission from a small spot that will last centuries.
Let us commemorate this event appropriately and securely.
I wish you, your family, and everyone a joyful holiday season once more.
Christmas greetings!
