Jadon Sancho is the subject of a standoff between Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag and the manager; ten Hag would not permit Sancho to return to first-team training until he apologizes. Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has no intention of giving in to Jadon Sancho.
After claiming on social media that he had “been a scapegoat for a long time” on September 3, Sancho hasn’t played for the club this month.
In reaction, Ten Hag said he left the winger out of the team for the loss to Arsenal because of his “performance in training.”
John Murtough , the director of football, and Richard Arnold, the company’s CEO, tried to mediate the situation in the hopes that it would be settled during the break for international play.
There is still no sign of a deal from either side, and United feel that the key to a settlement is an apology from Sancho to Ten Hag. Ten Hag cannot condone his authority being publicly undermined by a player – he was effectively called a liar – in a clear breach of disciplinary rules.
The Professional Footballers’ Association has offered its support to Sancho, who feels unfairly treated. Sky Sports News has been told senior players at United have also tried to remedy the situation.
Some players sympathise with Sancho but no one thinks he should have posted the now-deleted message on X, formerly known as Twitter, that had been viewed more than 60 million times.
Sancho has been cut from the first-team squad since September 14. He canceled his Instagram account on Tuesday morning.
United maintains that he is not working in “isolation” but rather uses Carrington Academy facilities to carry out a personal training regimen.
The 23-year-old continues to be watched over by trainers and coaches, receives medical assistance, and has access to all other necessities at the practice facility. He is just working outside of the first-team atmosphere until the matter is resolved, according to the club.
Sancho had an individual conditioning program in the Netherlands last season, which allowed him to watch the World Cup from a distance. This is not the first time the England player has been barred from United training sessions under Ten Hag.
Between October 22 and February 1, Sancho missed United’s games, but he returned to the lineup for the Carabao Cup final victory against Newcastle. Sancho finished the season with seven goals and three assists for United.
Concerns are raised regarding their right-wing player depth as a result of Sancho’s most recent absence from the first-team squad and Antony’s postponed return due to assault charges.
The Brazilian winger has been given a full leave of absence despite his denial of the allegations.

“I’ve been in Jadon Sancho’s position. I used to be that impressionable young winger. Just acting on my emotions caused me to make a ton of blunders. You realize you made a mistake after a few days have passed and apologize, unlike Sancho, who hasn’t done so.
“I want to know who is giving him advice and whispering in his ear. Agents, senior players, intimate friends, and family members should all notify him, as well as senior players.
“I don’t believe the manager’s remarks were made in a personal way. Sancho hadn’t trained properly, so he wasn’t playing, was all he said. It was a qualified opinion. There can only ever be one winner when you call the management a liar.
After the 3-1 loss against Arsenal, Ten Hag was questioned about Sancho’s omission from the team. He responded, “On his performance in training, we didn’t choose him.
“At Manchester United, you have to perform at a high level every day. He wasn’t chosen for this game since the front line is where decisions are made.
However, in response to Ten Hag’s remarks at the press conference following the game, Sancho posted a message on X saying, “Please don’t trust everything you read!
“I won’t stand for individuals stating things that are wholly false. I’ve behaved myself admirably this week during training.
“I think there are further factors at play in this situation, but I won’t get into them. I’ve been used as a scapegoat for far too long, and that is unfair!
“I only want to is to play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.”
