Harry and Meghan have decided not to include a photo of their children on their customary Christmas card.
The virtual message includes the following message: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season.”
They elected not to include their children, Archie and Lilibet, who appeared in last year’s card, this year.
Instead, Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, chose a photo from the 2023 Invictus Games closing ceremony, which took place in September in Dusseldorf, Germany.
As they grinned and clapped, Harry donned a black suit with a black dress shirt and Meghan wore a green strapless dress with floral embellishments.
Last year’s card was the first time the pair showed a picture of their second child, Lilibet, now two, holding her mother in the air.
This year’s card was published on the same day that the Duke of Sussex won a partial win in a High Court phone-hacking case.
The judge found that his phone was most likely hacked “to a modest extent” by Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN).
Piers Morgan, former editor of the Daily Mirror between 1995 and 2003, reacted angrily to the case’s decision, accusing Harry of attempting to “destroy the British monarchy.”
Morgan’s outburst, delivered outside his London house, asserted he had “zero knowledge” of a piece about the Duke published during his stint as editor of the publication, which may have entailed illegal information collection, and denied ever hacking a phone or directing anybody else to do so.
